Aspiring filmmaker Jane-Claire Stevens and budding violinist Natalie Odessa believe their tight-knit beach community can weather anything. When a record-breaking hurricane threatens, the friends exchange prized possessions, a beaded journal and a violin, in a protection pact against the storm.
Little do they know… Disaster is indiscriminate. The hurricane wipes their beloved neighborhood off the map.

The friends are forced to separate. While Jane-Claire forges ahead in an unwelcoming city, an injured Natalie remains in the declared disaster area. Although Jane-Claire writes every day, Natalie does not answer. Then Jane-Claire vows to return Natalie’s violin. Whether her own journal survived the storm is no longer important. Nowhere near as much as her friend.
It’s all about which way you look… Look Forward.
