A native of New Orleans, Dawn Crouch is a former dancer with Houston Ballet under the direction of James Clouser and Nicholas Polejenko. She holds a degree in political science from the University of Houston, pursued a graduate, and has written copy for a living. Ballet is a small world, and Dawn enjoys many connections with former colleagues, personal friends and past students who work in major ballet companies throughout the United States and Europe. She has directed and danced in numerous ballet productions and understands that any good story uses action and precise detail to convey plot, character, and emotion.
Although she began work on THE LAST PLAGUE before the Covid pandemic, the book is an eerily prescient tale of the weaponization of medicine.
She invites you to visit the Facebook page of her next novel, DEAD CHILDREN’S PLAYGROUND, a supernatural thriller based on a Rocket City urban legend.
In 2005, Hurricane Katrina blew Mrs. Crouch to Alabama where residing a safe distance from the beach, she authors GARAGE BALLET, a popular series of nonfiction instructional ballet books.
Her first novel AGAINST THE WIND, is based on the experience of her family during the storm.
